“A perfect blend of electronic and soul music, the colourful song packs a punch, full of emotion, warmth and life.” – Complex Magazine
Multi-faceted DJ, producer and filmmaker Pablo Nouvelle is pleased to announce the details of his new album ‘Wired’.
Wielding an array of superlatives following the release of his self-titled debut album (described as ‘essential’ by Mixmag in 2014), Pablo embedded himself in Zurich’s vibrant club scene and – switching from one European tastemaker to another (from the UK’s Black Butter to the Netherlands’ Armada Music) – released his second full-length album (‘All I Need’) in 2016, with nods to James Blake and the paler shades of dubstep. Picking up new influences and collaborations over the years, Pablo has honed his craft to perfection and the end product is ‘Wired’, eleven tracks that weave an emotive path through his personal and collective environment.
‘Wired’ has more than just the songs, and so much more in terms of the huge leap from the previous two albums. It is a breathtakingly soulful body of work that sees Pablo effortlessly drawing on electronic, soul and hip-hop influences, resulting in a truly immersive soundscape that juxtapose themes of hope and love over powerful, melodic rhythms.
‘Wired’ features a clutch of up-and-coming and established singers, Pablo details the album: “’Wired’ has become a very eclectic album with a lot of different facets and colours. There are dark club tunes, pop songs and more relaxed organic tracks. I always keep my ears wide open for interesting singers and artists. Ideally, I try to reach out to them directly and meet them for a session.”
He goes on to add: “’Wired’ is an accumulation of fantastic partnerships with different songwriters, musicians, singers and producers. people I have been wanting to work with for a long time. To have them gathered on this album is an amazing thing. In addition to the voices I have worked with before like Lulu James and Fiona Daniel, there is U.K. soul singer Andreya Triana (known from her work with Bonobo, Flying Lotus etc.), Cameron Bloomfield (who co-wrote, sang and played on different tracks), a Swedish artist called Sister, American singer Hanna Lees and a young British singer called Conrad. Also, the song ‘Careless’ was co-written by rising Canadian starlet Jessie Reyez.”
‘Wired’ is rooted in love not just for people, but for their surroundings as well: a soundtrack encapsulating lives that traverse across countries, love, loss and healing…
