Disciple Diary

Spending 2 days in Paris was the best thing I could’ve done for myself. I never n realized how huge it was. Nevertheless I was pleased to see most the sites with n enough time to do some record shopping. 2 record stores in particular had no n problem breaking my pockets. The first was CLUB NEWS which featured a wide range n of both progressive and French house. Antione Claraman,
n a popular resident DJ in Paris saw his CD selling out at an incredible rate n in that shop. Next stop I found myself at VIBE STATION, which had a more deeper n selection of soulful house and techno.

n

The next day I’m back in London just with time to hook up with Bobby & n Steve from SOUL HEAVEN who needed some jingles done for their Ministry Of Sound n Internet show. I get the report from JODIE that after doing Danny Ramplings n radio show some presenters want me to do a mix for their radio show too. Including n the Usual Suspects on PETE TONG’S ESSENTIAL MIX.
n That Thursday I find myself in Ibiza, breaking my pockets some more and checking n SEB FONTAINE, JO MILLS, and GUT ORNADEL at Creams’ last Ibiza party of the summer. n I thought Seb smashed it in the main room with his house set. Me and the crew n didn’t stick around long enough to catch Yousef as the next day I caught up n with my manager Kim Benjamin. The woman only sees me play once a year but what n better way to do it than at a club like PACHA. Her other client JUIUS PAPP couldn’t n make it because he had a hard time with the flights.

n

JON CARTER was a no-show as well sickness getting the better of him. Oh well, n I guess it’s just me Joey Negro Marc Hughes and Miguel P from DTPM/LONDON doing n our thing. With 6,000 punters in the house we saw scores of colleagues in the n house as well. PEACE DIVISION, MR.C, DAVE PICCOINI, CLAUDIA CAUSETTA, PAULETTE, n FUTURE GROOVE RECORDS, GUSTO RECORDS and BEHROUZ from CLUB RELEASE in SanFrancisco n were all in the house. It was a shame that I didn’t get to play any of their n records but they didn’t seem to mind as it was too wild of a party. PETER THA n ZOUK from Portugal filmed the whole thing while a friend of mine when taking n a photo of me pressed a button she shouldn’t have and wiped out all of my Ibiza n footage. I was pissed but it was O.K. and worse things have happened.

n

Saturday I’m back in London and already in the studio working with Jeremy Sylvester n on a new X-FACTOR 7. The day turns to night swiftly as JP and I head off to n Bristol to do DELI-G’s new night @ LEVEL. I do an early set but find enough n energy to heat up the dance floor upon my first record. At 1:30 I’m off back n to London where the MINISTRY OF SOUND awaits. The GELLOFISHPINK party in the n bar area was going off even before I hit the main room. The room not being full n and me doing a 4 hour set left me with a strong challenge. I’m up for it. And n with that said I do my job of getting that room lively and busy enough until n nearly 8 in the morning. Jake, the new promoter there was so impressed that n a rebooking when I’m next over these shores was a guarantee.

n

Recovery is all I can think about now and what better way to do it than in n Amsterdam. I’ll let you know what happens in my next report but in the meantime n catch me at these local radio stations across the UK.
