Here are some replies to a few of the many emails I have received from you:
rnjust saw the backstage pictures of Taboo on you dj site George and I just have to say wow, I love ‘em! Especially that “self-portrait” pic of you with that tattoo! Yeah, baby! Boy George is showing some flesh there! rn

Dear K,

Glad you liked the fleshyshot, Im working on full naked poses, but that will take a bit of extra time on my Macrobiotic diet. Taboo is going very well. The reviews have been mixed, but mostly very good and we are selling well at a time when theatre audiences are low. What with the Americans being scared to visit London, but we are a tiny theatre, so fingers crossed.
Thanks for your support, always appreciated.

Well, firstly, deepest apologies for my apparent rudeness, but us DJs/performers are always that little bit extra on edge when about to confront an audience and on the whole I am the most friendly of artists (try saying hello to Madonna, or getting close), but we all have bad days, moments. I certainly would never intentionally upset anyone and if I have I am truly sorry.

opening night indeed i’ve had to cancell my tickets for this weekend and cancell my coach tickets and no apology on your site, why can’t you be honest about taboo it’s cancelled this weekend for technical problems, ok so be it, never mind but honesty please and apology for you’re fans george hope things work out eventually for everybody andy

Dear (angry) Andy,

Im afraid, the apologies should come from the production side because I have no control over what dates get cancelled. Shit happens, actors get ill, technical faults hold things up. Anyway, I guess I should apologise on behalf of everyone but the show is now up and running, smoothly most nights and you should come along, despite your screwed up night because its a scream.
Trust me.

reading the es interview certainly explains a lot. so you are a closet hetro, that explains why you seem to have issues with your sexuality.is the reason you dont want to come out of the hetro closet because you have built this gay image for yourself and now you dont know how to break out? if thats the case you are fooling your own self and not the world! why dont you just be yourself?do you want to die misserably not knowing who you really are?dont be a sad fool, be a happy fool if you must. maybe, just maybe, why you get comments from other homosexual man like myself is because we can see right through you, your sexuality seems to be a big pretence. and reading your response to my letter from before it seems like i have hit a nerve in you. is it because you know its right what i have said? did that scare you? is the reality hard to face up to?

Why you keep writing the same old crap confuses and frankly bores the shit out of me. Just because my opinions differ from yours, that does not mean that you are right or I am wrong. I enjoy the sexual debate and as we live in a world that leans in favour of heterosexuals I feel it is an interesting subject. Clearly,my views rattle your cage and if that doesnt prove my point, well, Im out of responses. My sexuality, like yours, is just a word, it means fuck all. I dont live by labels, I am sadly forced to label myself, but to be honest it occupies very little of my daily life. If it is so important for you to be right, FINE, take the crown of righteousness and stick it up your arse. I DONT GIVE A FUCK. Ok, you win, now disappear.

Straight George
Hello, George!
rn
rn
I hope you had a very peaceful Christmas and also a fantastic new year’s eve! I know you djed that night, so I presume you were very happy – and made everyone happy too! I wish I’d been there… London is such a terrific city! Living there for two years was an extraordinary experience for me.

I’m writing to you because I’m very curious about a couple of things. On “Don’t Mind If I Do”, two tracks (‘C.Shoulder” and ‘MIAFool’) were produced by British group Swing Out Sister’s producer Paul Stavely O’ Duffy. I love his work with SOS and, needless to say, I ADORE ‘CS’ (one of CC’s best singles ever!!!!). My question is: how did the working relationship between him and the group come to life? Are you familiar with SOS’s work?
rn
rn
Secondly, I’d like to know why the artwork on the white Taboo flyer was done based on a picture of Corinne Drewery from the 80′s, not a picture of yours… She’s undoubtedly gorgeous, but I found that very curious. I’m not complaining though, since SOS are my second favourite band ever (I don’t really have to say who’s my number 1, right?
)
rn
rn
Take Care!!!!

Dear Jose,

Paul ODuffy was working with my good friend Amanda Ghost and thats how we met. I liked his work and his attitude and hope to work with him again in the future. Funnily enough the singer from SOS is being used as the face for Taboo, she is on our poster. Talk about six degrees of separation! Using Corinne was just a fluke, but we have met and I like her very much. I wasnt a big fan of SOS, but I like Corinne and she was happy to be the face of Taboo

I`m writing this as a way of a thank you really. I`ve been a fan for many a year now,and your music has been the soundtrack to my life since the age of 15.I’m now 33.Leaving home, coming “out”,my first dabble with man2man sex,all done to the sound of your voice.
rn
(well, you were played after and before sex, I felt it was rude to leave you singing whilst g.spots were being dicovered!) I’m now in a relationship with an American from the Bay Area.We met in San Fransisco and from our second date you were “omnipresent”
rn
(i.e a signed photo on the wall of the pizza house on the Castro.) We talked a lot about music and discovered we both loved Culture Club. We deceided a week later that we wanted to “give it a go” A few months apart-and countless plays of “Time” later – he came to the U.K, and has been here since. That was nearly three years ago.Over two years of that we have been passportless, as we have applied to the home office for him to remain in the country on the basis of our relationship – Which means he hasn`t been able to go home to the states, and that has been tough sometimes, and we both worry that there will be some problem with our application, but, god willin thats not going to happen.Your songs keep us going though, and I wanted to thank you for providing us with a song for “all occasions” When, and if, we get some good news from the home office,we are going to have a big party, and you`ll be invited!
rn
Cheers

Glad to hear that my songs have been supportive during times of both stress and sexual pleasure. What more could a writer ask for? I had my first gay encounter to Chelsea Girls by Nico, and it remains a favourite, although I realise that Nico, is not to everyones taste. I hope sincerely that you work out you issues with the homo-unfriendly office.
