So it’s farewell to summer and all those amazing festivals. Thank you to everyone who came along to our various Ram Jam Raves across the country….we had big fun. My joy comes from sharing music I love with like minded souls and there is no better time to do it than in the summer, especially when we can do it outside. There is a lot of new and exciting music coming through from the UK, Europe and Jamaica and we must congratulate Stylo G for his success here in the UK. He has worked hard, both on the road with his young band and in the studio and he rightly has the new number one spot on our Hot Hits Chart.
I look back on my first summer at my new home on radio, BBC 1Xtra, with great pride as we were able to present the legendary Freddie Mcgregor in a live session at the BBC Maida Vale studios, also Morgan Heritage and we had a special Sunday evening reasoning when Damian Junior Gong Marley and friends joined us….oh and I also got to meet Alicia Keys in person, which was great because you know that she is a real reggae fan!
So we roll into autumn looking forward to our very special Christmas Ram Jam Party, and judging by the acts that we already have confirmed, we are in for a bonkers night of raving.
As Ini Kamoze said, “walk on the edge of the breeze”.

Big respect to Damian, Wayne, Christopher Ellis & Black I Am for joining me on my set at this years Ram Jam Takeover on the RBMA Soundsystem.
I won’t forget that day in a hurry! The guys also joined me as guest on my 1Xtra show last Sunday for a deep interview on music, their label and the state of Jamaica.
The big concert fro this month is Beres Hammond, Tarrus Riley, Romain Virgo and Alborosie at Wembley Arena on sunday 14th October; it promises to be an awesome evening of real reggae vibes.
There’s some good new music around if you have time to seek and find tracks from Collie Buddz, ‘Won’t Be Long’, Morgan Heritage ‘Stand Up’ from their ep ‘The Return, newcomer Cleo Soul with ‘Crack The Code’ re-mixed by Tony Kelly and Macka B’s excellent ‘Reggae LIves On’ in which he remembers all the great stars who have passed and gone.
Really looking forward to returning to Corsica Studios in London and The WHP in Manchester this month and also my annual roots rock revival session in Birmingham with Father Hovis.

A couple of nice new bits of press have appeared in the past week. First up is the Jamaica Star – to get such a great “notice” in the Jamaican press is quite something:
David ‘Ram Jam’ Rodigan plays a sound with the glee of a child, but introduces the songs with the detail of a man who delights in the history of the music. He plays on radio and rocks the clubs, yet takes on the toughest in any clash, anywhere, anytime.
…And this is a recent interview I did in Berlin for iCrates:
Headlining festivals around the world this summer, Rodigan’s reggae Ram Jam has struck a chord with a new generation and with a reported booking waiting list of up to two years, we were delighted when the affable disc-jockey invited iCrates for croissants and coffee to share with us his life in reggae.
